    Abstract

Book synopsis: Namibia is one of the most popular long-haul destinations of the Germans - perhaps also because it " German South-West Africa " was once the colony. The experience of tourism and globalization moved in recent years to European colonialism, which also coined the German history far more than is commonly assumed , into the general consciousness. The book presents a review of the track in search of memory locations often inglorious German colonial history. In 30 easy to understand written individual contributions , it presents people, institutions , events, and imaginary worlds . Albert Schweitzer Hospital Lambaréné , Hagenbeck Zoo , and the " Hun Speech " Kaiser Wilhelm II , this includes as well as Mount Kilimanjaro , which the German Hans Meyer ascended as the first European , Bernhard Grzimek's film " Serengeti shall not die " or " Sarotti -Mohr " . An indispensable book for all who are interested in the German colonialism and the German collective memory.
