    Abstract

    Book synopsis: The reports of foreign diplomats shed a new light on government and society in the "Third Reich" . During the "Third Reich" written foreign ambassadors , ministers and consuls tens of thousands of reports that provide information on politics and society in Germany 1933-1945 digestion . As appreciated the diplomats , the Nazi regime ? What they reported on the attitude and behavior of the German population ? As they took the persecution of the Jews , with their consequences , they were immediately confronted by the issue of visas ? In the synopsis of this " strange looks " an overall panorama of domination and society in the "Third Reich" , the regime of the internal management reports often significantly different results. The contributions in this volume analyze these untapped sources for the first time systematically . Moreover, reports from ten different countries are excerpts documented in a comprehensive source part : subsequent war opponents of the "Third Reich" as the United States, Britain , France and Poland , neutral countries such as Switzerland and Denmark , allies of the Nazi regime , such as Italy and Japan, and south and Central American countries such as Argentina and Costa Rica.
