    Abstract

Additional Information: Google translation of German book synopsis: Asta Nielsen played in 1912 in youth and madness of one of the first cross-dressing roles of the German feature film. To this day - a hundred years later - has the theme of gender exchange by covering not only maintained, but a permanent place, especially in the German film comedy, conquered. Women test men's clothing in new spheres of power and means of survival, while men in drag often provide caricatures of the female sex, and have proven to be Charley's aunt and dancing kalauernd ensconced in the collective memory, not only of the German film audience. This film monograph traces the historical development of the subject of silent film and its many female trouser roles over the exploitation of the subject of racial vilification during the period of National Socialism and the Klamaukwelle of hit films in the 60s and 70s, the recommencement of the German comedy in the 90s with the linking of gay subculture and drag until the present, highly varied appearance of the gender swap. For the first time a story is hereby crossdressing in front of German film comedies. Places special emphasis on the gender of the band performance and question what conclusions can we draw for the ratio of the sexes and for social and psycho-historical dynamics and vibrations. Treated a broad spectrum of the 100-year design history of crossdressing by Lubitsch comedy early, like I for example, no man want to be, Hollywood remakes of German classics such as Viktor und Viktoria, several films of Charley's Aunt, the cross-dressing roles Lilo powder etc. in The Haunted Castle, a number of hit films of the 70s how the great aunts to beat, scenes from The Super Nose, The Woman in Flames, and In a Year of 13 Moons, to comedies in recent years like no one loves me, The Most Desired Man, Keinohrhasen and finally, Detlev Buck's remake of Tootsie RubbelDieKatz as an innovative and Charley's Aunt.
