    Abstract

Possible new immunosuppressants through biosynthesis: Derivatives of the immunosuppressant rapamycin, such as analogue 3, are obtained by feeding simple carboxylic acids to the rapamycin‐producing organism. Incorporation of these alternative starter units appears to be preceded by their specific hydroxylation.
