    Abstract

Book synopsis: Administrative transparency and access to information have become almost indispensable in democratic countries either to increase public confidence and to facilitate their participation in political life . However, if almost no one dares to criticize this principle, the reality of its application varies considerably from one country to another with resistance from the government , sometimes a little use from the copyright holders but also unexpected effects such as a reduction in confidence. This book discusses transparency into three parts: the situation in Switzerland , one in the European Union and in several countries around the world and finally the analysis of specific problems related to the application of this principle. It offers a broad picture of the situation in different countries and political and administrative systems and provides a discussion of many issues to increase or reduce access to information.
