Abstract
Book synopsis: The interdisciplinary contributions in this volume examine parallels and connections between the Berlin of the twenties and since the fall of the Wall in 1989, two periods ie, where the city was characterized by a spirit of optimism. The present here analyzes focus on various aspects of culture - literature and feuilleton, theater, film, broadcasting, architecture, city marketing and event culture - which describe the identity of the city in the interwar period, as well as today. Both in the twenties and in the nineties culture is understood as a response to a particular of constraints and opportunities new beginning. In some areas will also be aware of ties in the years after the turn of the quote in the interwar period to a metropolitan tradition to underpin the right to a continuity of this tradition.
