    Abstract

Book synopsis: The present chapter describes the development of psycholinguistic research on crosslinguistic influence. It focuses more specifically on key topics covered in the last decennia, how and when the discipline effectively branched out to frameworks not previously examined in CLI research, and the crucial role that the L3 networks has had in these developments since the First International Conference on Third Language Acquisition and Multilingualism organized in 1999 at the University of Innsbruck.
