"Hey Martin, \nDon't sweat it about the haters, empty vessels make the most noise.\nEnjoy Friday!\nSarah :o)" ---
I am very pleased to report that I will be participating as a panelist on the forthcoming Live Q&A this Friday (15th April) on the Guardian Higher Education Network.
I'm hoping this event will be an exciting opportunity to engage with and discuss the community's concerns as regards postgraduate prospects. In timely fashion, the THE has an article on this very topic in their latest issue.
On a slightly amusing note, one participant has already suggested that I should get a job at McDonalds while another has bemoaned the fact that I am neither a more "eminent academic" nor a "future Nobel Prize winner". I responded by asking how he knows about the latter. This could be an exercise in developing a thick skin below the comment-line, an aspect that I need to nurture, having been used to a supportive academic environment.
Anyway: looking forward to chatting on Friday and hope to see you there!
