While it still has to undergo peer review and as such isn't guaranteed to be published, I'll certainly be doing my best to overcome that hurdle.</p> <p>If you are interested, you can read my <a href="http://www.martineve.com/Publications/Martin Paul Eve - The Botnet Webs of Hegemony-Zombies Who Publish Proposal.pdf">full proposal</a>. My chapter is entitled "The Botnet: Webs of Hegemony/Zombies Who Publish" and uses a metaphor from the information security arena to explain the constraints under which researchers, libraries and publishers are operating, for the most part against themselves. I intend, in the working-through of this piece, to theorize an economically viable model for a transition to an upfront-payment gratis-provision Open Access model through subsidized support for early-career researchers in order to effect a paradigm shift.</p> <p>In the meantime: BRAINS! </p></div> <div> <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/"><img alt="Creative Commons License" style="border-width:0" src="http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-sa/3.0/88x31.png" /></a><br /><span xmlns:dct="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" href="http://purl.org/dc/dcmitype/Text" property="dct:title" rel="dct:type">Zombies in the Academy Proposal</span> by <a xmlns:cc="http://creativecommons.org/ns#" href="http://www.martineve.com" property="cc:attributionName" rel="cc:attributionURL">Martin Paul Eve</a> is licensed under a <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/">Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License</a>.</div>
