    Abstract

Book synopsis: The realization of this volume, edited by the Fondazione Giovanni Michelucci, was born from the desire to publish a catalog of the exhibition "The Hospital and the City" (Sala d'Arme in Palazzo Vecchio, Florence, December 1998 - January 1999) proposing the historical reading of urban hospital-city relationship expressed in venue through maps, original documents and works of art from the heritage of hospitals.
