    Abstract

WHITE MASKS is a musical performance and installation project on the subject of LOSS - CHANGE - THE OTHER, created by Silvia Rosani (composition), Esther Saladin (cello) and Inês Rebelo (visual arts). It includes pieces for solo cello, (live) electronics and sounding metal plates, enhanced by the presence of art. The performance is hybrid, cyclical, meandering; the classic division into stage and audience areas is dissolved. The interactive installation before and after the performance is a vessel for enriching the project with human voices. Contributions can be recorded in a soft-sounding room: your own stories and thoughts on the subject of LOSS - CHANGE - THE OTHER are discussed with the artists or left inaudible via microphone for others. The event is supported by the Music Fund, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art and the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
