    Abstract

Book synopsis: Analysis of the urban model of Barcelona from Porcioles (mayor of the city between 1957 and 1973) to the Forum exhibition in 2004 / This collective book summarizes the most important contributions of the research group Critical Files "Barcelona Model", made up of professors and students of Master and PhD, inviting various experts in the areas of architecture and history. The aim is to critically rethink, from the rigors of university work, the experience of Barcelona since 1973, the year that the mayor Porcioles resigned, until 2004 when the Forum exhibition marks the beginning of a crisis characterized by its distance to the city residents. The research project has been proposed as a university contribution to the re-approach of the urban model, based in particular on the possibility to overcome the triumphalist and official point of view of the city, as well as the harsh criticism with no feasible alternatives in the near future.
