Abstract
Event synopsis: This conference aims to review some fundamental critical episodes in history and Latin American political thought over the past two centuries, as has been condensed into three main figures: the birth of democratic state projects, in through numerous authoritarian inertia pose liberal and republican forms of various kinds; configuration of new and complex national identities, once accomplished the abolition of the imperial order; exile as a permanent expression of those voices that have been collected in a more critical way the new policy challenges. This three fundamental moments are taken into account: the transition from empire to nation; Revolutionary Sexenio and the Second Spanish Republic.
