Abstract
Event synopsis: It means to be an activist today? The symposium addresses this issue from three inseparable and constitutive poles of militancy. The first focuses on the individual engaged in identity perspective of the commitment to militant career, the sociological basis of militancy. The second concerns the cases brought by the militants: the multiplication of causes, their legitimacy or disqualification, internationalization, causes daily. The third focuses on the organization, forms and methods of activism, interactions between individuals and collectives engaged more or less structured. The symposium will encounter and exchange between researchers working on these issues and members social organizations that reflect the renewal of their membership base, the nature of their actions and their organizational form.
