Asibong, Andrew (2015) Introduction to two pieces by Vicky Lebeau and Hannah Eaton. Studies in Gender and Sexuality 16 (4), p. 304. ISSN 1524-0657.
Abstract
Vicky Lebeau and Hannah Eaton both attended a symposium held at Birkbeck, University of London, on April 24, 2015, to mark 50 years since the publication of Sanity, Madness and the Family, R. D. Laing and Aaron Esterson’s landmark psychosocial study of “schizophrenia” in 11 young British women. Silently present as audience members rather than speakers, each of them nevertheless responded afterward to the voices of the symposium in her own distinctive way, and we are publishing their responses—one discursive, the other visual—as a fascinating double piece of inaugural Miscellany.
