Abstract
This chapter reviews the work on populism by Ernesto Laclau in the light of his last work, The Rhetorical Foundations of Society (2014), and of his publications in the mid-1960s as both editor of the weekly Lucha obrera and as contributor to the political journal Izquierda Nacional. I suggest that over the years his work may be characterized by a 'waning' of the economic.
