Abstract
Contribution to the catalogue of "Nil Yalter: Off the Record", a retrospective exhibition of Turkish-French feminist artist Nil Yalter's work held at Arter, Istanbul from October 2016 to January 2017. This chapter, published both in English and Turkish, focuses on Yalter's 1978 piece "Le Chevalier d'Eon," centered on a transgendered figure and exploring the vicissitudes of gender.
