Abstract

From the perspective of foreign countries, an unimpeded view of the history of the "other" German state is possible. As shown by these studies by British historians who are the result of a session at the University of Reading in the summer of 2006. The contributions of this volume give an impression of the current state of research in British history. Methodologically, these are mainly based on the interdisciplinary approaches of cultural studies.
