Abstract
Book synopsis: Economic relationships are reciprocal relationships and are based on culturally determined rules, which are determined by values or emotions - for example, by the fact that the partners trust each other. This makes it all the more astonishing that the economic and cultural histories hardly notice each other. In this volume classical topics of economic history are treated from a historical perspective. The authors assume that the economy (from economic theories to the Management culture) is influenced by the culture. At the same time, economics has an impact on people's daily lives. The results of this volume range from the recognition of the importance of trust in the economy, to the discovery of national and religious "economic cultures" and specific forms of consumerism.
