Abstract
Book synopsis: How successful has Romano Prodi been in reviving the European Commission after the crisis of 1999? What impact has he made on the operation of the College of Commissioners and how successful was the reform of the administrative machinery of this key organisation? In addition to providing a detailed account of the operation of the College, this book includes a comprehensive analysis of the reform of the Commission and the factors that have led to its success.
