Abstract

O artigo trata da natureza e qualidade da produção psicanalítica brasileira, com foco nas publicações de psicanalistas brasileiros durante a ditadura civil-militar (1964 a 1985). Nossa questão central é se e como o autoritarismo do mundo social “exterior” refletiu-se na produção psicanalítica. Para essa investigação, entrevistamos psicanalistas que pertenceram a instituições psicanalíticas no país durante o período ditatorial e outros que realizaram sua formação em outros países e retornaram ao Brasil durante o período de redemocratização que se iniciou nos anos 1980. Também examinamos publicações do período em periódicos brasileiros de psicanálise. As evidências revelam que uma relação antropofágica colonialista com os principais centros de produção psicanalítica, caracterizada pela absorção de influências estrangeiras sem um engajamento criativa com estas influências, predominou durante a ditadura. Além disto, o funcionamento institucional hierárquico em ressonância com o autoritarismo da sociedade mais ampla resultou na falta de desenvolvimento de uma reflexão psicanalítica crítica fundada na realidade brasileira. Palavras-chave: Psicanálise, Brasil, Publicação, Autoritarismo The paper deals with the nature and quality of the Brazilian psychoanalytical production, focusing on publications of Brazilian psychoanalysts during the civil-military dictatorship (1964 to 1985). Our central question is whether and how the authoritarianism of the ‘external’ society was reflected in the creative work of Brazilian psychoanalysts of the period. For this study, interviews were conducted with psychoanalysts who belonged to psychoanalytic institutions in the country during the dictatorial period and others who received their training abroad and came back during the re-democratization period that started in the 1980s. Publications in Brazilian psychoanalytic journals were also examined. The evidence reveals that a colonialist anthropophagic relationship with the main centres of psychoanalytical production, characterized by the absorption of foreign influences without a creative engagement with them, predominated during the dictatorship. In addition, the hierarchical functioning of psychoanalytic institutions paralleled the authoritarianism of the broad society, resulting in a failure to develop critical psychoanalytical thinking founded in the Brazilian reality.
