    Abstract

(From translation) During the training process of the Spanish empire and the colonial society, conceptualized images are constructed, narrate and represent the Afro-Hispanic slaves. In this paper I explore the construction of the visual representation of Afro-Hispanic slaves, between the XV and XVIII, which is produced in Spanish and Mexican urban centers in the context of the practice of slavery. A greater emphasis is given to the problem of bleaching-Hispanic African slaves into three groups of images: the "Miracle of blackleg (XV and XVI centuries), the self-Hispanic African slave Juan de Pareja (1661) and the first series of Mexican casta paintings (first quarter of the eighteenth century).
