Abstract
A presentation of two criteria to be applied to automated contact tracing apps based on Bluetooth technology. The first criterion is for the minimal content of the information exchanged (pure encounter rather than trajectory or social graph). The second criterion is for decentralisation of the storage of contact data and a pull model for collection of it by the phones of uninfected users. Some assessments are offered of the extent to which these criteria are met by existing systems.
