Abstract
Book synopsis: The day care facility for children is on the move. Educational plans are tried and approved. Approaches to reform become standards. Who does it all - and how? The field of practice is more than ever required to adapt to diverse expectations, to reflect fundamentally on previous educational work, to document and evaluate current performance. New alliances and structures are necessary to ensure the long-term quality of day-care centers for children and their families as places to learn and live. The contributions in this pfv yearbook clearly show that if the entire field starts to move, then isolated reforms will not help. Professionalism and innovation can only be rethought in the combination of practice, training and further education and research. The book presents national models and international research that show how such composite systems can work and enable new solutions.
