Abstract
This paper explores the ethics of praise as discussed in the works of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche’s occasional remarks on praise are shown to fall onto three broad categories, namely: i) metaphysical; ii) psychological and iii) ethical. During the course of the paper, Nietzsche’s approach is located in wider theoretical context of contemporary work on the ethics of praise and moral philosophy.
