Abstract
This paper introduces a collection of short articles which address how comparative political economy can pay more attention to gender in its research questions and analysis. It identifies several gender-resistant features of CPE: the analytical separation of economic and cultural conflicts, the prioritisation of class as both an economic and a political category, and the belief that liberal feminism is the handmaiden of neoliberal capitalism. Based on a brief review of the articles in the collection, it argues that that insights from feminist political economy offer new ways of thinking about central problems and puzzles in comparative and European political economy.
