Abstract
The theory and practice of advocacy in innovation systems relates to the agency of engagement of different organisations in systemic thinking and action, so that cultures, dialogues and policies can be changed for the better. In the context of minority entrepreneurs such as people with disabilities, advocates might be disabled entrepreneurship networks, professional organisations or disabled entrepreneurs themselves using social media to highlight relevant success stories. Persistent advocacy by significant groups and key individuals leads to increased legitimacy of the cause being championed.
