Abstract
This dossier is based on papers and a film presented at the ‘European Experimental TV’ symposium, held at Birkbeck, University of London in June 2009. It is about reclaiming television ‘of the margins’, and discusses emergent links between film and television. It includes ‘notes’ on BBC production Gangsters (1976-78), an essay on Raul Ruiz's involvement with French television's Institut National de l’Audiovisuel (INA) and Krzysztof Kieslowski's seminal Dekalog/The Decalogue, and an interview reflecting on the film avant-garde and experimental television.
