Abstract
Book synopsis: At the crossroads of economic, social, political and cultural, this book focuses on a key figure still too unknown, the producer. In the example of France but also in other European countries, we examine a profession with blurred boundaries and its mutations, the origins of cinema today. Because the financial and editorial strategies are often closely intertwined, this set combines the economic, cultural and sociological approaches to better understand the role and influence of the producer in contemporary culture.
