Abstract
This volume contributes to the study of the reception of British, Irish and American literature in France, with the present extract focusing on the writer Andre Gide's (1869-1951) knowledge of Shakespeare. The whole volume, based on printed and manuscript sources, consists of over 3000 annotated entries, ranging from J.R. Ackerley to Edward Young, including Bennett, Conrad, Keats,Whitman and Wilde.
